A good example is why kids won’t practice the piano when they’re given piano lessons. I’m a pianist, and friends ask me all the time to help understand why their kids won’t practice and hate the piano. It’s always the same problem. The teacher never bothered to ask the child what they wanted to learn and why they want to play the piano. Instead the teacher shoves classical music down their student’s throat’s. It is a unbelievable farce. The teachers usually utterly fail to teach the student the single most important lesson, which is the joy of music. And the second most important lesson is the relationship between the student and the teacher — how the teacher can help the student realize their dreams and potential. Our educational system is so fucked up beyond reason. But of course it probably works really well if you were to view the educational system as a way to brainwash children to becoming good worker bees. Which is what many people in power want. So who’s fault is this?
