A lot of this comes down to the average decent guys experience. Not being able to get dates, having women who they aren't dating constantly complaining to them about the guys they are dating, many of whom it's obvious are jerks or clueless, and usually good looking or cute.

Now this doesn't invalidate women's experience, which is well described in your article. But you have to look at this from the perspective of BOTH men and women first. Then try to figure out what's happening. That's really hard to do because there is little hard data on this other than our own personal experiences and the experiences with see in others around us.
