Absolutely, and it’s not clear what the US is doing and if we have a risk management program in place (probably not, we are driven by profit and cost in order to win elections - I was a lobbyist)
For example the Chips and Science Act of 2022:
What’s the objective? Jobs? Innovation? Protecting us against China Invading Taiwan and reducing the incentive for them to do so? Is the amount of funding going to put a dent in it? And will it be properly administered? (Rarely is anything that the government does properly administered and monitored because it’s all about optics and money, not achieving a well defined measurable objective which always requires strong management - unless you’re the government and you literally don’t care)
