Absolutely true. In my experience, the biggest problem I have with people I hire, especially intelligent engineers, is they have no critical thinking skills. Not only are they literally incapable of doing this on their own, when asked to apply some critical thinking skills, they actively fight it because they disrespect it because they don’t understand it, and have never been taught about its value. that is until they meet me, and then, often I have to fire them, because they are literally incapable of doing it.
