Agreed, but we should consider the primary contributing factors:

1) Incumbents the world lost due to economic issues (inflation, income inequality)
2) The democrats failed to come up with good candidates even through Trump was a threat
3) Social media propaganda which is going to get much worse and Trump will do nothing about it
