All so true! But stupidity works really well for smart people, when it aligns with their interests. Humans vast intelligence is exceeding by one thing - our capacity for delusion when it comes to putting ourselves at the center of attention and power.

A few examples:
- claiming that Biden allegedly not being able to fight inflation is reason to vote for Trump, somebody who committed treason to overthrow the government in plain site. They rather die and destroy their children’s future than admit they backed the wrong horse—it would hurt their identity and ego too much
- brilliant engineers who understand quantum mechanics, claiming they didn’t realize that a default password (that everyone knows) and is used for access to security services is not secure
- pushing the benefit of electric vehicles while have absolutely no idea of the basic concept that you have to also understand how electricity is generated.
