Also the younger generation doesn’t take ownership of a problem and really think it through. They want to finish a task as fast as possible in order to look good. I’m constantly coming down hard on the younger people who work for me because of this. I have to constantly hammer on them and it takes a long time for them to not only “get it” but to realize I’m serious about focusing on these hiring level / soft issues. I don’t think their mental DNA has it in them. It’s very difficult working with them. (And they’re smart, they’re engineers)
