Also to what extent are people aware of their own social media strategy. Are you just looking to share pictures with friends? Are you marketing a product or yourself? Are you looking to engage in a discussion about something you’re passionate about with like minded people? Are you an activist and want to create change? Do you want to just vent?

For some maybe picking a platform like Medium is a good approach because people tend to be more serious whereas an average Facebook post has a lot more trivial material and poorly thought out commentary.

Some may just like to vent on Twitter and rant with people who think just like them and they’re too inexperienced and emotionally immature to understand what they’re really trying to accomplish (a lot if conspiracy theorists are like that, they like to rant but don’t care to pay attention to anybody else)
