Although I agree with much of what you’re saying I want to point out my experience in being an environment lobbyist. I got ZERO support from people - they were too busy watching their TV shows and posting cat memes on social media. People showed interest at cocktail parties but wouldn’t lift a finger to support my colleagues and I when it came to real work. So respectfully, I find it a bit hypocritical to complain about democracy when by definition it requires engagement from the population which rather sit on their couch and blame politicians for everything.
