An experienced engineer is maybe twice as expensive as a junior engineer, but is 10x more productive for most tasks. It makes sense to use junior engineers or outsource for really simple stuff and work the Sr engineers don’t want to do and also so they can focus on high level design. Jr engineers are also good for new ideas sometimes. Thus need a healthy mix.
