At first I enjoyed my management consulting job at BCG out of MBA business school. I learned a lot and worked on incredibly cool high level projects, even going to Board meetings at our customer Ely Lilly and flying in their corporate jet. I did for a time feel special and superior to the worker bees at the customer. But I began to see the toxic culture for what it was, as you described. What good can come out of a culture which dehumanizes its workers, who in turn become toxic to anything they touch, not just fellow workers, but their family and friends.
