At some point you have to ask the question why do so many people fall for the BS drama the media is pumping out? Are they all inherently stupid? I doubt it. Are they intellectually lazy? Maybe.

Is the general populace to blame for being engaged in following this manufactured drama vs engaging in the political process (either directly or supporting the people who put in real effort or NGOs)? Probably. But why do so many people fall for this without realizing the charade? I suppose the psychological manipulation that dumbs people down and appeals to their raw emotions is a programming that starts very young. Works really well for a consumer self centered culture.
