Fifty Shades of Misleading Crap
I find it interesting that the movie Fifty Shades of Gray had revenues of $571 Million dollars, ranked 165 in highest grossing movies of all time, yet per this video the 2 lead actors hated it:
Also neither the author, writer nor director, nor anybody else I can see involved in the film had any experience with BDSM from what I can see. This movie is basically about a sharp peppy young woman who decides to start dating a really creepy guy because he’s a billionaire. Oh by the way, he’s into BDSM, and seems to do it basically alone. None of this has any bearing on reality, and is actually the anthesis of everything BDSM is about (friendship, community, safety, playfulness, etc.). This kind of thing sound familiar — Hollywood making a lot of money on a topic that they know nothing about, distorting the public’s perception of it, yet doing a service by bringing it into the mainstream?
