From what I can tell, right leaning people are writing off the liberals, because propaganda amplifies the most extreme and annoying of the liberals (eg toxic wokeness). And the Conservatives use this as an excuse to lash out at us in order to feel important and better about themselves. It was also a strategy that the MAGA campaign used to get Trump elected.
