Good thoughts. Well the universe is alive indirectly because we are alive. Another question is whether the universe is conscious. Is there another level of consciousness, perhaps operating in a different timeframe (eg a thought takes a year). One that we don’t directly perceive any more than a neuron doesn’t directly perceive the thoughts of the brain, but is part of it.
