Great ideas, too bad social media companies will never implement them because they have no incentive to do so. Even if they were forced to by law they would do a lousy job because they would have no real incentive to do a good job and the government of course wouldn’t be smart enough to oversee because again they don’t have an incentive to be smart. Democracy in its current form is too flawed. That much is clear.
Open source solutions that are used in scale (eg Diaspora back in the early 2000’s I think it was) won’t be able to do because they don’t have the resources to create a strong platform that is widely used.
Somebody like Wikipedia’s solution has the same problem as open source. Also I tried it and subscribed but I don’t use it much because of the network effort, there aren’t enough people on it, same when I tried Elo after Facebooks real names issue.
I see no practical way to roll this out because maybe capitalism in its current form is flawed. Sigh
