I assume you mean our "leaders" and corporate types. I was lobbyst, you're spot on, they only speak 1 language - money, They're bred to WORSHIP money and power and they're too stupid to recognize that they are part of the problem. Actually, they're bred to be ignorant and stupid. Which covers the second point, "they" won't invest in better education because that means the populace would not only be clued into the problem (by realizing that they are being manipulated via constant distractions), but they would also be skilled enough to come up with a plan and self organize. God forbid. (Well, we would probably fuck it up anyway due to conflicting interests and power struggle...money does tend to clarify things and allow people to organize much better. The founders of the US were afraid of the two "M's" - The Monarchy and The Masses...both terrifying).

If you're a politician or a lobbyst and try to do something that makes sense (i.e. is the "right" thing), you are pretty much laughed at as if you were a young boyscout. There is literally no difference between a politician/lobbyst and a defense attorney - you will do what PAYING clients asks you to do. Whether you are innocent or guilty is TOTALLY irrelevant.
