I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to come out as trans back then, and the courage it must have taken! Kudos!

In my case, I haven’t come out as trans at work even now because I work 99% remote and for the 1 day a year I need to show up in person or occasionally turn on my Zoom / Teams camera, I just present as a man. The trans issues that affects me at work is more of a sense that cis men in the Tech world have a tendency to not have a “feminine” sensibility of seeing the big picture, see and caring about how something impacts others, etc.
