I feel the same way about Musk. What is particularly bothersome about our social environment is that people I have known my whole life and who are educated and I respect for their diligence throughout their lives, have gone down the dark side of perpetual Internet Troll. Why? By and large because they have become isolated, depressed, and feel irrelevant. They need a sense of purpose, so they create a narrative that puts them at the center of attention and become a troll. If it can happen to them, it can happen to anybody, including Elon Musk. (In his case not depressed, but ego probably makes him want to be at the center of attention and he’s gone to the dark side which is to pick out the easy meat and Troll and say stupid not we’ll thought out stuff )

Absolute power corrupts…there are very rarely any exceptions. Hmmm, George Washington. Lincoln. (Well they had a great cause to hang their hats on. Maybe they too wold have become trolls if they were in a different situation where they were continually ignored)
