I left SF for NYC because it’s culturally dead, killed by tech. I used to love it, now it’s so disgusting (eg homeless everywhere), and boring, I left despite how much I used to love it. I miss the weather and the scenery, but connection with people is more important to me now. Oh and it’s too expensive given what it has to offer. In my final years I got so embarrassed by how many times I met tourists who waited for years, sometimes decades and were so disappointed.

I know you love SF as much as I used to, but the reality is sad. And it is a symbol of what Tech has done to destroy our culture across the board. It has helped in many ways, but it’s gone too far..I hope we balance. Until then, I’m staying in NYC, a city that is still great.
