I thought it was one of the most disappointing Alien movies. Great effects and scary monsters, but that’s getting boring. I expect more from an Alien movie, some interesting storyline (eg one they started with Prometheus and blew it with Covenant, but at least they had Michael Fassbenders character). Romulus had nothing interesting. A waste of money.

I guess financially is easier. Just play it safe and just make a simple scary movie with lots of special effects. A tent-pole movie.
