I was an environmental lobbyist for two years and got ZERO support and interest from people. People like to say they care at cocktail parties, but just about nobody will lift a finger to do anything, it’s too much work, it’s complicated, it’s boring. Far easier to claim you care, and stroke your ego thinking you know how to solve the problem, but assume somebody else will do it, so you can spend your time watching TV and partying. People work too hard and they want to relax and have fun when they’re not working.
