I was an environmental lobbyist…the problem is that the DNA of Washington is money and power. We all know that, but to see it in action is remarkable. These people literally don’t know any other way to behave. It’s like trying to tell a polar bear to stop farting to reduce methane emissions…they don’t even know what methane is and have no concept of why the ice is getting thinner.

Unless the movement finds a way to create sustained pressure on Washington (with their own lobbyists), this will likely go as far as Occupy Wall Street did with real action… nowhere.
