I would listen Trump supporters if they just admitted the system is so broken, we need to destroy and replace it

Donald Trump tried overthrowing the election results, and thus he cannot be president. Anybody who thinks otherwise has ZERO credibility, and everything they say is total gibberish (i.e. they will twist facts to fit their fantasy). This is cut and dry — no need to debate it. Either you believe it or you don’t.

UNLESS, their argument is that they acknowledge he tried overthrowing the election and despite this being EXTREMELY dangerous, they support him anyway because our government is so utterly broken, it has to be torn down and replaced. And the risk of having a man like that as president is worth it. Then there would be something to talk about.

Because there is one thing I think most of us on both sides can agree upon

Our politicians are on the take and out to lunch, we just disagree on what to do about it.

I’m voting for Harris despite how pissed and disappointed at how lame the Democrats are in their ability to come up better, more experienced candidates — because Trump’s behavior is TOO dangerous. We live in an extremely complex world, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

But I understand why people might still support Trump. The Democrats had 4 years to come up with better candidates! This is the reason why a large segment of Trump supporters are supporting him (There are many other reasons, we won’t get into here, but suffice it to say, that it’s a big number). After the insurrection, the Democrats had a chance to recognize this as a watershed moment — the Democrats had a chance to make big changes, starting with a better candidate. And they did NOTHING to be more responsive to the people. They are up to their same old tricks and lame behavior, despite the threat!!! WTF!!! Probably most of it is because they are in bed with the 1% as almost all politicians have been for decades — they don’t know any other way to operate. (I used to be a lobbyist, I experienced it directly myself).

But if you feel this way in supporting Trump, don’t lie. The man tried overthrowing the election result. There is NO ambiguity about that. Just admit it so we can have common ground.

And to make matters worse, technology growth / power is so fast, we need to get with the program and deal with the Tectonic Shifts that are happening as a result. People are taking advantage of this. We are in a Cyber World World right now! And we’re just getting started. Regardless of the election outcome, we need to deal with the Tectonic Shifts. What are these tectonic shifts? Here’s a few top ones:

  • Social Media Algorithms emphasizing hate and outrage, while having no controls and auditing, and being controlled by a few people (e.g Musk, Zuckerberg, Peter Thiel). They are drug dealers disguised as Tech Billionaires. Any now many of their subjects are addicts who NEED their drugs (e.g. likes) to keep their lives filled with meaning, and they will NEVER support any changes that will take their drugs away. And AI is going to make this orders of magnitude worse!
  • Powerful players taking advantage of the addiction. The likes of Tech Billionaires who want less regulation and taxes, Politicians who as usual will do ANYTHING to get power — especially the ones with the least skills, and Foreign Powers like Putin who said a decade ago that the only way to take down the US is with social media fueled propaganda. Who knows what these players have ALREADY PLANNED for the moment when we start fighting each other over the election results. Who knows what dark, encrypted networks they have put together to coordinate huge groups of people and activities. We have NEVER been in this situation before.
  • A world too complex for most people — Our world has always been complex, but now it’s complexity is growing geometrically, with social media adding to the chaos. The average person can’t readily participate in any political discourse because of the complexity and more importantly the social media noise making it IMPOSSIBLE to have any discourse.
  • Multi-polar world — 30 years ago it was US vs. USSR, then it was US dominance with China on our heels, now it’s powerful countries and individuals who have amassed too much power. Not only Putin and Xi Jinping, but also people like Elon Musk who has his own custom designed social media platform, but also has military, satellite and NASA contracts/power, in many cases as a single source. What is to stop Musk from turning over some of his assets to Putin or somebody else? What is to stop him from galvanizing millions of people to fight for him? And if Harris wins the election, what’s going to happen to Musk and his government contracts, when the man can’t be trusted at all — we can’t readily replace SpaceX with another contractor, but we might be able to force his removal from control. We are living in a SciFi dystopian horror movie right now!

Regardless of the election outcome, we need to deal with these tectonic shifts. The outcome of the election will just determine how easily it will be to recruit people. Broadly, what are the outcomes in descending order of BAD:

  1. Trump wins, Republicans control both houses. VERY BAD, but very unlikely. This was the case in 2016, and we survived, but nefarious forces have had 8 years to improve their tactics. Not to mention the Supreme Court Problem which would only get worse.
  2. Trump wins, Republicans control 1 house, Democrats control the other. More likely than #1
  3. Trump wins, Democrats control BOTH houses.
  4. Harris wins barely, resulting in massive fights, and possibly a constitutional crisis and Civil War. (Could this be the worst scenario?)
  5. Harris wins decisively, resulting in fights that eventually simmer down, but doesn’t stop.

If Trump wins, we have a mandate, with #2 probably being the easiest to recruit people. Ironically if Harris wins, it will probably be harder to recruit people because people will probably rest on their laurels and it will be the same thing over and over with a Trump successor, who appears at this point to possibly be Elon Musk and Peter Thiel and anybody they support for President who has some charisma. (Thankfully neither of them are eligible to be President, at least for now).

But regardless of the outcome this is what we MUST do:

  1. Get better leaders, who can take us into the post social media / technology world. Some of them to be politicians, some of them to remain influencers. But who? Mark Cuban? Oprah Winfrey? Richard Branson? Sara Blakely?
  2. Social Media Platforms which improve discourse so people aren’t yelling over each other and creating chaos. Politicians and celebrities could tell their followers that this is their primary mechanism of engaging with people. And here’s a song / live video (on a playlist) that emphasizes that we need to get above the clouds (noise): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T30n3Cj6tw&list=PLltCWMwSKk4OU0IEAsUSOVURheCSdnQlW&index=3
