In a public forum, it's almost impossible to have a reasonable conversation about the topic of teen transitioning, because so many people want to be a hero and slam the "other side" to get brownie points. Thus debate doesn't happen (par for the course in social media).

I think it's fairly obvious that a line should be drawn somewhere regarding when a child should or should not be able to do something permanant with hormones or surgery. The question is where. 7 years old? 10 years old? 14 years old? 18 years old? And it will vary by person. Where's a good summary of the statistics, debating points....I haven't seen it. I've just seen a bunch of ill informed people trying to win brownie points.

It's the same issue with abortion - many people who voice strong opinions don't care about abortion nearly as much as winning brownie points. You would think they are vying for a prize for $1M to see who can "win" the argument, or who can use the most clever rhetoric to put enough people into a frenzie that they win points for humiliating the most number of people.

And this problem exists on both sides. There are trans people who are reasonable and there are trans people who are NOT reasonable. Just like there are Cis people who are reasonable, and there are Cis people who are NOT reasonable. If you push things too far into demanding something without considering other viewpoints, you are just feeding the social media hate machine that is drowning all of us while making a few people wealthy and powerful. All while resolving nothing and confusing everybody.
