Ironically the school system does prepare us for the working world because it too largely wants people who have had their soul beaten out of them. It’s easier to make money and get power in our society if you follow the formula of just hustling everything…who has time to live your deepest innate values?
I don’t have children so it’s been easier for me to continue to follow my own path, something I fought vociferously since I was a kid. As a result I was emotionally abused, found myself in bad relationships, and didn’t make as much money as my peers. But I’ve had one helluva life and accumulated a lot of skills and wisdom, just too bad most of that isn’t valued by all the robots.
