Is it inevitable that all intelligent civilizations do one of the following:?

1. Fall apart from too much collectivity because fear, selfishness, tabloid always win
2. Splinter into two groups, the masses who love garbage and the extreme minority who are devoted to “quality” and somehow find a safe haven (eg Mars, the stars)
3. Some civilizations mature and survive their destructive adolescent behavior (eg where we are now)
