Is our democratic experiment (as George Washington call it) a failure? Or does it need to be tweaked (assuming that’s possible). And if so how? (Changing the elector system, funding News like the UK does with BBC, etc). Washington was afraid of the two M’s…Monarch (power/oligarchs l) and the Masses. The masses are more easily manipulated than I could have possibly imagined when I was younger. They can’t be that stupid??? I really don’t understand-because I grew up mostly overseas with a very worldly and thoughtful father who loved different cultures and ways of thinking. Sigh…
