It’s very simple. What they really care about is putting themselves at the center of attention, getting power, and giving them a sense of purpose. They don’t really care about gay people, otherwise.

And why do they do this? Depressed, isolated, feeling powerless, no sense of purpose, not smart enough to do something useful. So they pick on minorities and people in a weak position. Like a school ground bully.
