I’ve dated both women and men (I dated women when I was a man, and men now that I’m a woman). I can only speak from my experience.

I prefer dating women (as a man), but I would never go back there. As a man I’m invisible, often lambasted for just being a man (I suffer for the bad behavior of the average douchebag), I’m the beta in the relationship (it’s mostly about what the woman wants), and I’m constantly criticized for having feelings and expressing myself. As a woman, I’m desired, I can act as I want to, and it’s a lot of fun.

You really need to try both to know. Sure woman get a lot of crap from men, but you have the power to walk away and say no for the most part. That’s much better than being totally invisible, and having no opportunity at all, except in the rare case when one of the mediocre crumbs is interested, and typically only as an beta part of the relationship.

A lesbian relationship is of course different..
