I’ve manage lots of narcissists having managed many engineers, artists, and tech people. Narcissism is caused by something, for example needing to isolate yourself from mediocre people from a very young age, being insecure due to some kind of abuse, etc. If you can address their insecurities or pains, while disarming them by avoiding their drama, you might get through to them. The key is to be compassionate, always focus on the positive and address their concerns. For example if they act all pissed off, ask them what’s wrong, compassionately.. And if you still can’t get through to them, then you have every right to ditch them.
