Logic means nothing to these people. Having a logical discussion and finding the right balance between giving a child what they need and not jumping to permanent change too soon is impossible.

They don’t care about the children nearly as much as they care about feeling like a hero and willing political points. Of course, they’re totally blind to their own behavior.
