My interpretation of one of the points the author is trying to make is that there are many cases where trans activists are making outrageous demands and thus hurting the cause. For example, I don’t think it’s reasonable to demand that M2F trans women be allowed to compete in women’s competitive sports (eg high school, professional). A healthy debate would be reasonable, but i don’t see that happening.
