NIST requires quantum safe algorithms for asymmetrical cryptography by 2030, and they recommend it starting in 2025. Regardless of exactly when quantum computers will scale, a lot of companies are deploying quantum safe algorithms sooner than later. Especially if they have hardware in the field that could last for many years, they don’t wanna have to upgrade it when quantum is actually needed.
