On the surface that sounds like a terrible idea. But it depends on how they implement it. (The devil is in the detail). For example, if you know you’re talking with an AI bot, and they’re limited to you soliciting advice, that’s a very different scenario than if you don’t know it’s an AI bot and they’re constantly being involved in conversations.
But regardless, I agree these social media Titans are a scourge on our culture. Similar to how we managed our telecommunications infrastructure when AT&T stepped onto the scene, we need to step in and manage this situation.
