Please always remind folks that the power grid needs to be more carbon clean. France is very clean (nuclear) where The US is not, especially states like West Virginia. The high efficiency of a coal power plant is offset by the losses in conversation of mechanical energy into electricity, transmission and distribution , battery storage, and converting electricity back to mechanical energy.

So anybody who is an advocate of electric vehicles should be aware that a cleaner power generation strategy is essential. People must be reminded of this all the time, otherwise they just stay in fantasy which is really easy and convenient.
