Social networking contains toxins that divide people even those who are very similar. For example my friend is pro life, and thus leans towards Trump and I’m pro choice and loathe everything Trump stands for. But when I had a VOICE conversation about abortion we agreed just about 100 percent:

  1. Women who are raped or have health issues should be able to have an abortion
  2. Women shouldn’t use abortion for birth control
  3. A woman who made her first mistake shouldn’t be critiqued for having an abortion
  4. This is hard to legislate (eg # 2 vs #3), where do you draw the line- how many abortions are too many?

Of course there are many other issues, but this emphasizes the clusterfuck that happens online when you use soundbytes to galvanize followers regarding very complex issues. They become a victim of politics as the professional politicians use them for their own purposes and clearly don’t give a shit about resolving and dealing with anything.
