Spot on! Btw James probably does harm (exactly the opposite of what he thinks), simply by working for Facebook.

The reason why people go down this path is because they want maximum feeling of achievement while putting in as little effort as possible. Young people have a tendency to think their smarts puts them in a situation where they don’t have to do the hard work, because, well, they must be smarter than everybody else. Let those other people do my bidding, they figure. Eventually they grow up…or do they? Social media has retarded our maturing and there are now way too many adult children out there.

Many of us have many of our own examples, but here is one of mine. I was an environmental lobbyist. I spent two years of my life with almost no income, learning about the Power Grid, power sources, electric vehicles, technology, economics, etc. I attended dozens of government public hearings, industry symposiums, I worked on projects with Utility Companies, etc. I even wrote a book about it. And what kind of support and engagement did I get from friends and acquaintances who repeatedly claimed to really care about the environment because it so important for them and their children.

ZERO.

Sure they love to post about it and talk about it, but not only would they not lift a finger to engage, they would talk over me in conversations, because apparently they thought they knew more sitting on their couch, then somebody who spent years on the topics. I guess I was a threat to their sense of self. It was one of most humiliating and depressing experiences I ever went through.

I quit.

And now, pardon my attitude, but i don’t give a shit about the environment, let the Earth burn, we will get what we deserve

My book on the environment sold 9 copies in 10 years at a cost of $1.50. ( an ebook). My next book was about sex. At a cost of $25, I sold over a thousand copies in the first 6 months. And I’m just getting started.

I rest my case.
