Tech entrepreneurs have a fake-it-before you make it attitude…Analysis of risk is just not in the culture (I’m a risk management professional…people don’t particularly like hiring somebody like me unless they’ve been burned or are in big trouble..after the fact). They visualize success, and assume that those who made it big have to prop everything up hoping it all eventually falls into place. They don’t believe they will fail…they think fate is with them. And if they do, they figure, well this is just a lesson, or it’s somebody else’s fault.
