That’s basically one of reasons that I became a woman. I couldn’t tolerate the way I was expected to behave as a man, the final straw trying to be an environmental lobbyist with a conscious (when all the other guys were in it for the money, 100%). I also couldn’t stand the way women treated me as a man, immediately categorizing me as another asshole dude because I was a man. Men treat me better (as a woman) than women ever did (as a man). And women treat me much better when I’m a woman..now I get to really know they’re precious souls, something i never had access to as a man.

When I was a man, I felt like the feminine part of my personality (compassion, empathy, etc) was abused. That was bad enough, I can’t imagine growing up female.

I hope men do get band together to address toxic masculinity. But at some point, men and woman need to work together to understand and respect each other. That is quite a tall order, when the advertisers who emotionally abuse us from a young age (especially girls), tell us over and over again what a man and a woman are (in order to sell us products) are so powerful and probably getting stronger.
