The primary reason by far is for entertainment purposes..most people have already decided, and your ability to influence people to get out and vote is probably limited. Most people will just chit chat in their social media bubbles and not impact much at all. Personally I have ZERO interest in the entertainment value - it's the same old crap. I rather play the piano - actually I was a theater club doing that at the time of the event.
If you do run across somebody who is undecided or isn't going to vote, what do you say to them? Trump thinks the law allows newborns to be killed and blames it on the democrats. You can't believe ANYTHING he says, not to mention Jan 6. If people don't get that, what other information in the noise is going to make a decisive difference? What else can you possibly talk about that won't result in the usual conversations going around in circles as everybody tries to convert other people to their thinking.
Personally, I watched it, because I'm involved in campaign activities....
