This is an extremely complicated topic with many other factors that were not listed in this article (eg there was evidence that Japan had nuclear material from Germany and we were afraid Russia would get it) and very few people have all the facts clear. And some of these facts are propaganda and BS and some aren’t.

All we can do is list out the various alleged facts and make pro and con arguments and then see what each of believes based off that. Of course, most people don’t have the time and resources to do that
