Those who deny this do this because they want to make it about them—-they want to feel important for example in order to cover their own pain (eg feeling irrelevant, depressed, etc). Our world is so competitive, people fight not just for jobs, housing, food, etc…they compete for attention and relevance. The good news is that there are A LOT of cis people who support trans for all kinds of reasons - respect, curiosity, helping them to appreciate their feminine or masculine side, or they just love variety. I moved to NYC recently (from San Francisco) and I perform Off Broadway, and I was surprised how many cis people from the Midwest are VERY curious.

We are ambassadors, and we bring color and variety to so many people. Always remember that.
