Unfortunately, from what I can tell, looks matter more than anything. Kindness, generosity, compassion, etc are way at the bottom of the list, despite what people say. Maybe these matters more after the relationship is established, but at the beginning they are almost totally irrelevant, unless the person is just a plain buffoon or jerk, and most people aren’t.
