When I was a lobbyist I was utterly shocked at the level of the complete and utter selfishness exhibited by just about everybody involved. You’d have to see it for yourself to believe it, even if you believe it, it’s much worse than you can possibly imagine. These people are not only unethical, they are so incredibly stupid because they want to believe its not their responsibility to think through what they’re doing because this is how they make their money and everybody assumes somebody is making sure their activities make sense.

Politicians and lobbyists are just like lawyers, they will work for whoever pays them. What is right or wrong makes absolutely no difference, it’s totally irrelevant. I cannot emphasize enough just how hard it was to believe, these people were like robots.

Without organized involvement by the the people, nothing will change. And unfortunately it is very hard to organize large groups of people to combat this.
