Where do all those guitar pics go?

I have to refresh my supply of guitar picks regularly. I’ve never solved the puzzle regarding how they just vanish all the time. The prevailing theories are:

1. Conversion to pure energy: They literally just disappear. The matter in them suddenly ceases to exist. Most people argue that’s impossible because according to E=MC2 that would create the energy of a nuclear bomb. But maybe there is a flaw in Einsteins equation.
2. Wormholes: They disappear into a wormhole and emerge somewhere near Barnards Star. That theory at least keeps Einsteins equation intact
3. Aliens: Aliens have a serious deficiency of guitar pics on their home planet, so they have sent self replicating Von Neumann machines to collect all the guitar picks they can from our planet. The problem is how do they transport them back to their planet, maybe through a wormhole. Which works better than the previous wormhole theory because in this scenario you only need 1 wormhole as the probes could bring all the guitar pics to 1 wormhole. Now where would the wormhole be, perhaps centrally located like in the Midwest. And maybe another in perhaps Germany to cover the European market. Of course that doesn’t explain where they get the energy from to operate and transport the guitar picks. Maybe they eat some of the picks and convert them into pure energy.
4. The Guitar Center has sent agents all over to steal guitar picks so we have to keep going back to buy more. Perhaps there is even a black market for used guitar picks. The problem is I’m not sure about the economics of that. Figure you gotta pay these people at least, what $8 an hour. Then they have to sneak around your house or behind stage, that’s not easy, and do it without getting caught. Plus it doesn’t explain the next problem.
5. I just lose them all the time and it’s my fault. No, that’s not possible because I’ve literally had guitar picks vanish from the clutches of my fingers all the time. So I’m not buying this theory.

It think it’s high time we got to the bottom of this and started setting up cameras, infrared detectors, maybe even a Tricorder if we can get some funding as Tricorders are pretty expensive, especially if you want to get the kind that will detect Omicron Radiation, which could very well be a factor here. If anybody has any ideas on what’s going on here, please help me.
