Yea that was really strange. Reading between the lines it seems to me he is really determined to earn a living off the platform — in that group he posts a lot about earning money off the platform and he also posts what appears to be several stories a day..much more than the average person.

If you’re expecting to earn a living as a writer on medium, you’ll very likely be disappointed, and in this case bitter.

Or so it seems, that whole thing was so weird. I’m not even sure if some recent change to Medium prompted all of this?
