Yes, but something else to consider...just a few minutes ago I heard the best use I've ever heard. If you live in a (relatively) corrupt country like Iran, Afghanistan where the government can lock up your money, Bitcoin can be extremely valuable.

Still I think criminal activity and avoiding taxes is the most "compelling" use case, by virtual of the sheer $ volume relative to these other countries, which might not have access/infrastructure for Bitcoin (i.e. your own wallet and the tools and know-how to go along with it, or an exchange).

I would love to see a good writeup on the real story of all the Bitcoin use cases and how they have and will evolve over the years (e.g. governments are clamping down on exchanges for fiat currency in both directions and auditing of the blockchain which appears to be contain public trackable information. I.e. I'm not sure if your public key is in the block chain or a delegate key is used for each transaction. I think it's simply the former).
