Yes - I had another chat we somebody who pointed out something similar. Good for countries with hyper inflation, where the government is known for stealing your money / freezing assets, etc.
Regarding whether bitcoin/crypto is general will thrive, and what markets (i.e. limited vs. broad, use cases, etc) is TBD. The big issue I find is that many people WORSHIP the technology and literally think it's better than regular currency in every possible way without understanding use cases at even a basic level (e.g. if I pay for something online and use a credit card and the person screws me and doesn't ship the product, I can have my credit card company cancel the transaction, I can't do that with bitcoin. You can in theory do that with other crypto like Etherium and smart contracts, but that has not been proven and isn't in place in scale).
