You can also see this in the lack of innovation in YouTube, I had a startup that tried building an fun and innovative video sharing service but it was impossible getting the “hooks” to work properly and easily in the YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and even Medium ecosystems. I finally had to just give up.

Facebook is better at innovating, but then you’re locked into the Facebook universe which is focused on the biggest things and gossip in the last 24 hours, not getting to learn about something that is new to you, but not the latest 24 hour gossip. It’s like our only choices of what to consume is coming from drug dealers.
